The Team


Fieldfisher's Regulatory team are seeking to recruit a number of experienced Legal Professional / Paralegals who will work as part of a cross-office collaborative team consisting of Belfast, Dublin and London staff on an important project expected to last four years.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for review of documentation, drafting, liaising with clients and third parties, compiling hearing bundles and assisting with various processes including carrying out investigations, obtaining witness statements and drafting allegations.

Based in our Belfast Hub office, you will be joining a new and exciting office environment that has seen rapid expansion since it’s opening in August 2018. With approximately 50 staff spanning across Business Services and Fee Earning roles based out in our Titanic Quarter location you will be joining our exiting team of Belfast based legal professionals who work across numerous sectors of Law providing support to the UK and European offices.

Responsibilities


• Managing a busy caseload under supervision.
• Analysing large volumes of documentation to create a case plan.
• Managing correspondence on a daily basis.
• Interviewing witnesses and drafting witness statements.
• Drafting of allegations.
• Compiling hearing bundles.
• Liaising with the client and third parties in both written and verbal format.
• Liaising with other stakeholders and members of the wider team.
• Liaising closely with the Partner/Associate running this project and relaying information in a timely manner.
• Attending team meetings and providing reporting as required

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong educational background.
• Law degree preferable with a minimum grade of 2:1
• A minimum of 18 months paralegal experience
• Previous experience of taking witness statements/ drafting allegations would be highly desirable.
• Previous experience managing your own caseload would be highly desirable.
• Commercial understanding allowing you to foresee upcoming needs and act proactively.
• Ability to analyse and communicate complex information clearly.
• Ability to write accessibly and concisely.
• Ability to work methodically and at pace, even when time pressured.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Highly organised.
• A solid understanding of confidentiality in day-to-day work.
• Ability to work as a member of a team and on own initiative.
• Preparedness to exceed expectations and be fully committed to the role.
• Genuine interest in the legal sector/ regulatory work.
