The Firm

We are seeking to attract a number of talented Paralegals / Legal Professionals to join our expanding Belfast office. The successful candidates will be able to manage challenging workloads and work under pressure across a number of practice areas including Financial Markets and Products, Regulatory, E-Discovery, Real Estate, Personal Injury/Medical Negligence and Corporate. This role will require working on high profile matters with our London, Manchester, Birmingham and Dublin offices, alongside teams which are market leaders in their field known for providing a first class level of service.

Based in our Belfast Hub office, you will be joining a new and exciting office environment which has seen rapid expansion since its opening in August 2018. With approximately 50 staff spanning across Business Services and Fee Earning roles based in our Titanic Quarter location you will be joining our exciting team of Belfast based legal professionals who work across numerous sectors of Law providing support to the UK and European offices.

Responsibilities
  • Drafting, reviewing and preparing documentation
  • Data extraction and analysis of contracts
  • Drafting non-complex banking and finance documents, including ancillary documents
  • Ad-hoc company searches, etc. in support of legal opinions or as part of due diligence
  • Proof reading documents
  • Document management
  • Working with legal technology tools
  • E-Discovery, working on a document review team and assisting with Data Subject Access requests
  • Liaising closely with the Partner/Associate running the matter and on the redaction process relaying information in a timely manner
  • Attending team meetings and providing reporting as required
  • Interviewing witnesses and drafting witness statements
  • Liaising with the client and third parties in both written and verbal format
  • Preparing electronic bundles
  • Liaising with Land Registry and various banks to register legal and equitable charges on property
  • Legal research and other investigative tasks
  • Providing essential support to the team
  • Administrative tasks
Key Skills & Experience
  • A minimum of 12 months experience of working as a Paralegal / Legal Professional 
  • Strong educational background and law degree preferable with a minimum grade of 2:1
  • Experience of working in a document review team and a solid understanding of privilege is preferable
  • Previous experience in banking and finance work desirable
  • Previous experience in conveyancing is preferable but not essential
  • Experience handling a varied and busy workload
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Commercial understanding allowing you to foresee upcoming needs and act proactively

  • Ability to work methodically and at pace, even when time pressured
